If you are concerned about the current economic climate, you’re right, you should be. No, I’m not going to play the doom and gloom card – in fact quite the opposite. The reason you should be concerned is only if you are not playing the financial state of the world to your advantage.
How the heck do I do that? I hear you ask.
Here’s the positive: I have a solution for you. DON’T pull back on your marketing plan. (You do have one, don’t you? Mmm, more about this another time.)
The Small Business owners that make the effort now will stand out amongst the crowd because instinct for the average entrepreneur is to pull back. Continue to be the inspiration you already are and keep going!
Keep up with your free newsletter, eBook, teleclasses, and sessions. In fact, if that is what everyone else in your industry is continuing to do too, then take it a step further and come up with something else that will get your clients excited. Perhaps take a lesson from the past and Direct Mail. There’s less Direct Mail pouring into people’s letter boxes now because we are using technology, but maybe the public are getting tired of receiving just bills. I don’t know because I haven’t even tried this myself; it’s that hot off the press!
Whatever you decide to do, measure it. Keep a record of where an enquiring customer heard about you, how often you contacted them before they bought off you, how long it took to convert them, and how much they spent with you etc. Think KPIs.
I’m going to be writing about how to create the best, fool-proof marketing plan for Small Business owners soon, so why not subscribe to my Coaching Business Strategies blog, getting it delivered direct to your inbox and then you won’t miss it!!
And remember, you don’t have to make a complete U-turn in your business to improve your sales and marketing. Just improve on what you are already doing; improve on what you have already built. Instead of making a U-turn, make a right (90 degree) turn instead.
Here's to your success!
