This is part 1 in a 2 part article.
Seriously, I cannot emphasise this enough. You know I attend live events and I am cementing some amazing business relationships as a result. The opportunities that have presented themselves to me since attending have been phenomenal.
As if you need any more evidence, here are 3 more reasons to get yourself out there:
1. Learn new business strategies
Time has always equalled money when it comes to business but NOW is the time, more than ever, to rely on subject matter experts. Think about it, are you really using your time productively spending hours researching how-tos yourself, when you could pop out to a live event and be shown how-to within (usually) an hour? Immersing yourself into a subject means you will learn a lot more, a lot more quickly. You also get the added bonus of meeting like-minded people.
2. Get new clients
As I mentioned in my introduction, live events is the ideal place to get new business. The connections I have made are worth the ticket price alone, let alone what I learn whilst there! (But don’t tell the organisers that, or they may increase the price! :-) ) You could gain a possible partner in your referral or joint venture scheme or a new client in need of your services. In fact, I booked both from one recent event I attended!
3. Socialising and having fun!
What we girls do best is talk…and girls do just wanna have fun, after all! Magic can happen when you let your hair down (a little – always bear in mind your reputation). When you are relaxed and less ‘salesy’ your colleagues will be most interested in the personal side of your brand. Of course, there is an edge of strategy to this, which is why I said to let your hair down a little, because you need to remain sharp enough to spot an opportunity. Do remember though, be authentic and genuine.
Scout your local networking groups for information on upcoming events and book them in!
*Next week I will be providing you a checklist for your live event strategy.
